John Durham, Pastor

John and his wife Jennifer have two children, Hannah and Caleb. He enjoys anything outdoors especially camping and kayaking. In his free time he enjoys working out, he loves to read biographies and books on history, and enjoys a good movie night with his family. John's favorite food is seafood and he strongly believes that God's favorite restaurant has to be Pappadeauxs.

Wayne Watkins, Administration & Senior Adults

Wayne and his wife Jo Ann have been married for 42 years. They have one daughter, Jennifer, and four wonderful grandchildren, Macayla, Ian, Cody, and Megan. Going to the movies, bike riding, playing games, taking vacations together, and spending time at Church are some of the fun things he enjoys doing with his family. His hobbies include snow skiing, traveling, and collecting Coke cans from all over the world. Wayne has been in the ministry 34 years and is jokingly referred to as the "old guy" on staff by Pastor John.

Michelle Stanphill, Assimilation, Connection Corps & Women’s Minister

Michelle and her husband Brent have three beautiful daughters Ashley, Logan, Maison and the cutest little granddaughter Camdyn. Michelle enjoys planning gatherings with friends and family. She loves to meet new people, read, and take family trips to the beach or mountains. Mexican food is her favorite and Michelle knows that Heaven will have great tortillas with homemade butter.

Chuck Pope, Media & Communications Director

Chuck joined the FBC staff in February 2008. When he ventures away from behind the computer and gets outdoors, he enjoys traveling the globe, camping, backpacking, and spending as many Saturdays at the lake during the summer as possible. In his spare time he enjoys drawing, reading, hanging out with friends, and watching good movies. While Chuck enjoys food in general, he loves Mexican food and believes that Chick-Fil-a is the perfect fast food restaurant.

Jason Hatch, College Pastor & Men's Ministries

Jason and his beautiful wife Hannah married in 2007, and were blessed in 2010 by their first kid, Judah Duke! Jason loves Jesus, Hannah, Judah, preaching, running, reading, and hunting. If given one free day, he would go fishing with Brad Paisley. He has also been known to eat entire watermelons in one sitting.

Jay Miller, Student Pastor

Jay and his wife Nicole have a son, Corbin, who joined their family this past Fall. In addition, their two dogs Toby and Chicago are helping them get acquainted. Jay enjoys anything sports or outdoors related. In his free time he loves hanging out with his wife, playing sports, listening to music, and (of course) church-league softball. When it comes to food, Jay firmly believes that you can't beat a day that begins with Joe's and includes Big State!

Jennifer Mosty, Children's Minister

Jennifer and her husband Aaron are proud parents of their two sons, Micah & Joshua. Jennifer loves bike rides, time with her family, silly games and CANDY - especially gummy bears! In her free time she enjoys reading, sudoku, movies, and board games. Jennifer's favorite food is Latin, and when dining her favorite place to eat is La Duni Latin Cafe.

Donna Mosty, Preschool Minister

Donna and her husband Lee have been married for 35 years and have 4 married children. They are blessed with 6 grandchildren and have one more on the way. In her free time Donna enjoys taking photos, scrapbooking, machine embroidering and crafts. She also enjoys movies, traveling and spending as much time with her family as possible. She was raised here at First Baptist Church of Irving and has taught or worked with children here for 38 years.

Will James, Classic Worship and Choirs

Will and his wife Janet joined the church in 1981 and have 3 children: Allison, Amber & Austin (and son-in law, Kyle). A longtime veteran of teaching, Will spent 27 years as a band director in the Irving ISD, and loves anything musical. He enjoys mission work and traveling to Colorado. Favorite movies include "It's a Wonderful Life", "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Pirates of Penzance." Homemade chocolate chip cookies with milk are his favorite food group.

Jared Billups, Worship Pastor & Contemporary Worship

Jared and his wife Krystal have lived in Irving since 2005 and have three children; Karoline, Klaire, and Kade. Jared loves to kayak, loves to lead worship, and loves to backpack (not necessarily in that order) and enjoys a good book, Southern Gospel music, God's sport- Soccer- immediately followed by other less important sports, Apple products, winter, guitar, mountains, pecan pie and has occasionally been known to watch 'White Christmas' way out of season.

Blake Best, Production & Technology Director

Blake and his wife Virginia have been married for 3 years and live in North Irving. Blake loves technology and fiddling with computer components. When Blake isn't mixing behind the soundboard or solving a computer problem, he and his wife love going to see movies together, especially in the action genre. They also enjoy playing board games like Settler's of Catan or 42 when they're not playing Epic Mickey or Donkey Kong Country Returns together. Blake is still appealing to the USDA to have Asian food incorporated into the food pyramid.

Shanon Kuykendall, Kids Day Out Director

Shanon and her husband, John, have been married 17 years. They have one son, Damon and his giant sidekick, Pal (their dog). Shanon finds great joy in spending time with her family, loves to read, enjoys dabbling in photography, horseback riding, and racquetball. Heartfelt Scriptures include Micah 6:8 and Colossians 3:23. Italian food is her favorite and Carrabba's is the place to eat it!

Julie David, Renew Ministries Director

Julie and her husband Daniel married in June of 2006 and joined the church soon after moving to Irving. They celebrated the birth of their first little miracle, Joshua Paul, in August of 2010. Julie was called to the ministry of counseling in high school and recently received her Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling before earning her license as a LPC Intern. She enjoys playing with her son, exercising, novels, trying new restaurants, and movie nights at home with her husband.

Jamie Mays, Children's Discovery Center Director

Jamie and her husband Gary have been married for 40 years and have called Irving home since after college. Irving is also where they have raised 3 children, who all followed the Mays family tradition; attending Irving High, graduating from college, and marring to start their own families. Jamie and Gary have 3 grandchildren plus one more due in March. Jamie and the CDC staff are excited and grateful to begin the school’s 34th year at FBCI. She loves anything outdoors; spending time at the lake and spending time in east Texas, riding four wheelers, jet skiing, boating, fishing, long walks, traveling, and enjoying being with family and friends.
