Singles Ministry

The singles ministry of First Irving attempts to reach all singles at all ages and all stages of life. Through bible study, missions, and fellowship singles can enjoy friendships, spiritual growth, and ministry opportunities. Come and join us in this growing ministry area of First Irving.

Bible Study Classes

The Road: The Road meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings in room M210. It is a group of 20-something singles that meet for encouragement, bible study, and fellowship. The Road meets a few times a month outside of Sunday morning for outings, fellowships, game nights, movies, etc... Philip Moore is the director for this class.

Forward Life: A class designed with the single parent in mind. This class reminds single parents that there is a lot of life ahead; and that true life is found in Christ. This class, which meets at 9:30am on Sunday mornings in room M105, focuses on bible study for real life as well as parenting tips and encouragements. Becky and Marcos Martinez serve as directors and Nolan and Adrienne Sittig serve as teachers.

Radiant Life: The Radiant Life class meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings in room M206. It is a class for singles in the age range of 38-50. The Radiant Life class leads out our SEALS ministry which feeds the homeless every Tuesday night.

The Blessing: The Blessing meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings in room M204. The Blessing is a class for women only (singles or married). This class focuses on the special needs of singles, single moms, or "spiritually" single ladies. The Blessing meets regularly for fellowships and meals. Ann Adams is the director of this class.

The Encouragers: The Encourager class meets at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings in room M206. The Encouragers is a class for senior singles. This class is very active in prayer, in missions, and in fellowship; they realize that God is not done using singles no matter the age! Shirley Brady is the director of this class.

Mission Opportunities

The singles at First Irving have always been very involved in the life and ministries of the church. You will find many of them teaching on Sunday morning, singing in the choir, serving on the media team, and helping in many areas of ministry around the church.

A few years ago it was the singles ministry that gave birth to the S.E.A.L.S ministry. The S.E.A.L.S ministry feeds the homeless men and women of Dallas every Tuesday night. If you are interested in this very practical expression of Christianity, please feel free to join the S.E.A.L.S team on any Tuesday night.

In the past, the Singles ministry has gone on mission trips, and we hope to re-engage this ministry of missions soon.
