REFUGE - First Irving's Middle School Ministry
Why Refuge?
The reason for the name Refuge is for two reasons. First, because we want middle school students to understand that God is their refuge and strength. In the world of a middle school student, it can sometimes be very hard to feel secure in who you are.
Whether it's hard days at school, struggling at home, or maybe even both, our students need to know that God desires to love them and have a meaningful, uplifting relationship with them.
Second, our students should feel that our middle school ministry is a place of refuge for them. Church, of all places, should be a place where you do not need to wear a mask to fit in. Every student should be valued. Every student should be loved. And that is something that we desire to see in middle school students leading out in every Sunday and Wednesday.
