To Christ

You Can Have a New Life! God greatly loves you and has this amazing plan for your life. The Bible says that Jesus came to give you life - a full, purposeful life. John 10:10

God gives all of us a choice to follow and believe or to reject and walk away from God. Unfortunately, since the beginning of time we have chosen to disobey God and go our own way. Everyone has sinned against God. The Bible says everyone has sinned and fallen short of the standard. Romans 3:23

As hard as we may try, nothing we can do will compensate for our sins and bring us back into a right relationship with God. Only Jesus can bridge that gap. The Bible says that it's only God's awesome grace that we can accept through faith that can save us and put us in a right relationship with our God. Ephesians 2:8-9

Someone must pay for our sins before we can be rightly-related to God. Because you and I cannot pay, God did. He loves you so much that He sent His perfect, sinless son Jesus to earth to be crucified on a cross for your sins. When Jesus died that agonizing death, He paid the penalty for you. The Bible says that God loves you so much, so much that He sacrificed His One and Only Son. And if you believe and accept that gift, you will live forever. John 3:16

The next step is incredible - it is a step of trusting and believing! The Bible says if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:9

You can ask Him to give you a new life right now. Pray this prayer, or a similar one. The words you use aren't as important as the meaning that comes from your heart. "Jesus, I know I have disobeyed and have sinned. Thank you for taking my place and dying for my sins. Right now, I open the door of my heart and accept You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for forgiveness and for giving me a new life. Help me to be what You want me to be and to live each day for You. Amen."

To Our Church Family

At the close of each Sunday service, we provide the opportunity for those who would like to join the church tom come to the front of the worship center and speak with one of our ministers. Questions you may have about our church or what it means to have a personal relationship with Christ will be answered.

Our church accepts people for membership in the following ways:

By Salvation and Baptism - Individuals who are inviting Christ into their life to forgive them of their sins and take control of their life today and who wish to be baptized as a symbol of their acceptance of Christ will be received in this manner.

By Baptism - Individuals who have previously accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, but have not yet been Biblically baptized by immersion and wish to be baptized as a symbol of their acceptance of Christ, will be received in this manner. click HERE for more information on baptism.

By Transfer of Membership - Individuals who are members of another Baptist church of the same faith and belief as First Baptist Irving and who have been previously Biblically baptized by immersion will be received in this manner.

By Statement of Faith - Individuals who are members of another church of the same faith and belief as First Baptist Irving and who have been previously Biblically baptized by immersion will be received by confirming their prior decision.

If you have a question about any of these methods, or terms, one of our ministers would be happy to discuss it with you either at the end of the service or by appointment.

To Ministry Opportunities

Here are some areas of opportunity for you to be immediately involved in.

Connections Corp

Parking Greeters Team - Consists of fun and enthusiastic men and women committed to making sure things run smoothly as people enter the First Baptist property each weekend. They welcome people to our church and assist with any needs people may have. If you want to join this team-oriented and energizing ministry, we've got a blue vest waiting for you!

Worship Service Team

Welcomes our members and guests as they enter the Worship Center so they may enjoy a positive worship experience. They assist with handing out worship guides, helping with seating, taking up the offering and handling all the behind-the-scenes details. If you enjoy helping people prepare for an incredible worship experience, the Worship Service Team would love to have you join them.

Guest Services Team

Assists guests in finding classes that meet within the buildings by escorting guests to the desired location. They assist with the organization and management of our Guest Services booths located throughout the church. If you have a warm smile and enjoy serving others, there is a place for you.

Door Greeter Team

Is the warm, friendly faces that welcome you when you enter our church doors each weekend. If you are an outgoing and friendly person who loves making great first impressions, we invite you to join this team.

Welcome Center Team

Serves our guests refreshments at the conclusion of each worship service. They facilitate guests in meeting with staff members in the Welcome Center. If you have a warm smile and enjoy meeting new people, this may be the place for you.

New Life Ministry

The New Life Ministry is a process to introduce new members into the life of the church by helping them establish relationships with other members and helping them find their place of ministry and service in this church.

Positions in this ministry are:

New Life Minister

Makes contacts with all new members, guides them through the New Life process, ensures new members find other members of like background or personality, and helps them find their place of ministry or service within the church.

New Life Host/Hostess

Are present at all functions of the New Life Process to make the new members feel at ease, provide another friendly face, and to help establish relationships with other members at First Baptist.

Life Class Teacher

Teaches a three week class that serves as an "orientation" to First Baptist Irving. There are six topics covered in this class to help new members get their bearings.

PLACE Teacher

Teaches a five week class designed to assist new members in learning their giftedness and providing them with ministry and service opportunities.
