New Life Class
Led by Michelle Stanphill and Jason Hatch
(Meets in the Worship Den)
Hear the vision and direction of First Baptist Irving. Take a tour of the church and learn more about opportunities and ministries.
 
Raising Financially Freed-Up Kids
Led by Pastor John Durham
(Meets in M202)
This class gives parents biblical wisdom in raising financially responsible children.  Kids are bombarded with unsound messages about money, so this will equip parents to show our children God's plan for money and giving.
 
Route 66: Travel Through the Old Testatment
Led by Wayne Watkins
(Meets in M104)
This class uses the keyword learning system to teach the “Big Idea” of each of the Old Testament Books with easy-to-memorize visuals.
 
Genesis from a Jewish Perspective
Led by Carlos Aviles
(Meets in M205)
We will be reading the most important passages and stories of Genesis and how to interpret the difficult passages of the book like the Creation, Sacrifice of Isaac, Names of God in Genesis, Story of Jacob and Joseph.
 
Prophecies of Daniel

The book of Daniel is an incredibly unique book which contains some of the most detailed prophecies and historical contexts of the second coming of Christ.
 
Biblical Discipleship

This class provides a biblical understanding to the role of discipleship is within the church, along with practical instruction on carrying out the mission of multiplicable discipleship to the generations of the future church.
 
The Scarlet Thread

The scarlet thread of covenant can be found intricately woven from Genesis through Revelation revealing the everlasting covenants of God and their transforming power.
 
Choosing Rest

A Biblical study teaching us how to bring order, calm and balance into the busyness of our lives. We are running, driving, working, going...and the Lord desires us to choose to quiet ourselves and our schedules so that we may hear His voice and bring His Sabbath rest to our hearts and lives.
 
Communicating in Relationships
Led by Julie David
(Meets in the Choir Room)
Every relationship requires communication, but many of us have not learned how to do so in a positive way. In this class you will learn to identify negative patterns of communication and how to develop new, healthy patterns. The class is interactive and is open to singles, couples, and families. Julie is a Counselor with Renew: The Counseling Ministry at First Irving.
 
God’s Movement in Africa

From the African soil, Christianity in Africa has arisen with it a distinctly African experience of God. Now, half a billion Christians are residents of the continent of Africa. We will learn why Christianity in Africa is steadily growing.
 
The Simple Math Tour!

Why did Kim Jong Il never fly? What's the 38th Parallel? What are the Mass Games? Come find out the answers to these and more as we understand the history, culture, and mindset of the Korean Peninsula. You'll learn how we as a church family can pray for, reach out to, and love the Korean Peninsula and its people in our simple equation of: "The Word of God + The People of God = The Mission of God".  

Conversational Spanish
Led by Professor Juan Baldor

An introduction to the Spanish language.  Participants will learn phrases and vocabulary in order to be able to carry on a basic conversation. This is open to anyone, but will also be a great class for those planning to go on mission to Honduras in May.

High School Students Study

High school students will go through the study, “I am not, but I know I AM” by Louie Giglio. This book will teach us the rich, meaningful lifestyle of being small. Free from the worries that used to strangle you, you’ll radiate the power of the God who is all the things you aren’t!

Middle School Students Bible Drill

Bible Drill is an exciting class that helps students increase in the knowledge of the Bible, develop skills in locating books of the Bible and key passages, memorize Scripture, and learn how to apply the Bible to their lives.
 
Middle School Fellowship

Middle School students not attending Bible Drill, will have fellowship time.
 
4th-5th Grade: Children’s Ministry Bible Skills, Thrills, Drills

3rd Grade: Children’s New Believer Class

For all 3rd graders, as well as any child (K-5th Grade) who has recently accepted Christ as their personal Savior, or who may have questions about what it means to be a Christian. We will discuss salvation, baptism, prayer, worship and Bible study. Please contact Jennifer Mosty to register for this class and to receive the workbook.
 
K-2nd Grade: Bible Buddies

Bible Buddies teaches our younger elementary children the importance of the Bible in a fun and interactive environment.

GriefShare: Your Journey from Mourning to Joy

GriefShare features biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on topics associated with the death of a loved one. The seminar features respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion. The class lasts 90 minutes and will continue for 13 weeks.
