Elementary Ministry
Kindergarten through fifth grade is one of the most exciting places to be at First Irving!!!
Our goal is to reach, teach & equip children in these age groups to live out lives of COURAGE, boldly speaking the name of Jesus wherever they go! (Joshua 1:9) We are discipling them to build their confidence in Christ through Sunday School and TeamKID; training them to know the Word through Bible Drill and Bible Study and teaching them to know that God is there for them, loving them, strengthening them, and leading them. Jesus tells us in Matthew 19:14, "Let the children alone and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Sunday Activities
Children's Bible Bible Study (CBS) 9:30 a.m. This organization serves as the foundation of the Children's Ministry. At present, we are using the Hands-On-Bible Curriculum developed by Group Publishing.
Learning to Worship 11:00 a.m. Kindergarten & 1st grade have the opportunity to learn worship skills @ the beginning of the 11:00 service and then attend a Bible study tailored to their learning and energy levels. At present, we are using LifeWay curriculum.
Bible Drill 5:30 p.m. Bible Drill is a program designed to help increase knowledge of the Bible, develop skills in effectively handling the Bible, and to begin developing memory skills. Fourth and Fifth grade Bible Drill is taught on a competition level. Children can compete if they would like the challenge. We use Bible Skills, Drills & Thrills developed by LifeWay Ministries.
Wednesday Activities
High 5 Children’s Choirs 6:00 p.m. Kindergarten through Fifth grade gather together to sing their hearts out for the Lord. There are regular productions and opportunities to perform.
TeamKID 7:00 p.m. Children in Kindergarten - 5th grade meet on the Children's Second Floor for one full hour of high-impact Bible Study. This program serves as an outreach to our weekday kids. It is a unique blend of recreation, discipleship, Bible memorization, and Mission's focuses. We use the TeamKID Literature developed by LifeWay Ministries.
