Packer's classic work "Knowing God." After more than thirty years in print, and over a million copies later this book still continues reveal the wonder, the glory, and joy that comes with knowing God. All are encouraged to read this book along with us this summer. It's not too late! Copies are available on sale in The Hub for the discounted price of $12. This Wednesday Night This Wednesday night First Irving will begin Go Global Wednesday's, a summer series allowing the church to hear from men women who have witnessed God's global activity. Come share in a time of praise and fellowship with us this week as we hear from Angela Stamps, a church member who has recently accepted a 2-year assignment as a JourneyMan in Romania. Go Global Wednesdays meet each week throughout the summer in the fellowship hall at 6:15 p.m. Coffee, tea, and dessert to follow.
Go Global Wednesdays
Join us each Wednesday night this summer at 6:15 p.m. to hear the voices of men women who have witnessed God's global activity. There will be a time of worship, fellowship, and prayer as well as free dessert, coffee, and tea each evening. Go Global Wednesdays will meet each week throughout the summer in the fellowship hall at 6:15 p.m. New Men's Summer Group All men are invited to a Wednesday night Men’s Group. This group will meet this Wednesday at 7:00pm in room M210. The Men’s group will read through and discuss J.I. Packer’s book “Knowing God.” This is the book that Pastor John has challenged the church to read together and the book he is using to guide the sermon series this summer. FaithWorks Commitment Faith works. It always has. FaithWorks is the name of First Baptist Irving's capital campaign begun in the spring of 2008. We have already seen an amazing amount of commitment from those who have already made pledges. Our prayer as the body of believers is that as we commit to and give over the next several years, that the Lord would continue to unite our hearts, keeping us focused on the biblical goal of the Kingdom, and to complete the vision. Now is the time when we can join in the unparalleled opportunity to reach more for Christ in our community. Adult Choir Our 9:30 Adult Choir is looking for voices as we begin our preparation for 2008. We rehearse Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in the choir room. No auditions are required, just the desire to help lead worship through music.
TRADITIONAL SERVICE with Choir: 9:30 a.m.
This exciting service uses choir, great hymns of the faith, and special messages through song. Will James in in leadership of worship through song each week. CONTEMPORARY SERVICE with Band: 11:00 a.m. This service uses a band to lead in ancient and modern songs of worship. Jared Billups is in leadership of worship through song each week. WEDNESDAYS Join us on Wednesday for PRAYER GATHERING at 6:15p.m. in the Fellowship Center. Come this summer and hear what God is doing around the world and be apart of Go Global Wednesday's!
