This Sunday
Pastor John continues our Summer Sunday morning series this week, The Real Thing. This teaching series on the book of James will help us realize what authentic Christianity is all about. Join us this entire summer on Sunday mornings as we preach through this amazingly practical book.

Wednesday Night
Continuing this Wednesday, Wednesday nights this summer take on the theme of missions! Come and hear reports of what the Lord is doing here and around the globe. This wednesday, join us as we hear from His Voice for the Sudan, led by Vernon and Amber Burger. The Burgers have partnered with a church in the southern Sudan to minister to widows and orphans. Come hear updates and stories about what God is doing through this amazing ministry to further His kingdom in the Suda. Wednesday nights are a wonderful time of fellowship, teaching, worship, and prayer. The Fellowship Meal begins at 5:00 p.m. and Prayer Gathering begins at 6:15 p.m.

Summer Women's Bible Studies
Calling all ladies! Here is your chance to be a part of in-depth bible study while getting to know other women and enjoying a meaningful time of fellowship. First Irving will be offering several different women's bible studies over the course of the summer beginning in June. Topic, times, and location can all be found under the Women's ministry link or by clicking HERE.

Men's Evangelism
Beginning Wednesday night July 1st, A men's evangelism training class will be held in M103, at 7:30 p.m. We will be talking about and training for Evangelism the first 2 weeks, and then we will spend the next month sharing the gospel. If it intimidates you, that is okay, come anyway. If you have never shared your faith, come anyway. If you are not sure and want more info, please feel free to contact Jason Hatch

New Sunday Morning Schedule
Beginning August 9, First Irving will begin holding three services on Sunday mornings. At 8:45 a.m., there will be a Classic Service, which will be lead in worship by Will James and the choir. At 10:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. there will be a Contemporary Service, both which will be lead by Jared Billups and the worship band. Preschool child care will be provided during all three services. Additionally, ABF classes will be offered during the 10:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. slots. This will allow for more seats in worship, families with children to worship in any of the three slots, and ABFs in the second service (slot B) to worship in either the Classic (slot A) or contemporary service (slot C). Most importantly it gives us a faith-filled vision for our church's future and an opportunity to see more people involved in the Lord's Kingdom and work.

Fellowship Meal & Prayer Gathering
We invite you to our Fellowship Meal and Prayer Gathering every Wednesday beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Fellowship meal is served from 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. Meals are $4.50 for adults, $3.50 for students, and $2.50 for K-5th Grade. The Fellowship Meal and Prayer Gathering are held each week in the fellowship hall.

A Name Change - ABF
The familiar name of "Sunday School" is changing for all of our adult classes. The new name will be Adult Bible Fellowship or ABF. This allows us to communicate with others the purpose of our classes, as well as begin new classes on days outside of Sunday.

FaithWorks Commitment
Faith works. It always has. FaithWorks is the name of First Baptist Irving's capital campaign begun in the spring of 2008. We have already seen an amazing amount of commitment from those who made pledges. Our prayer as the body of believers is that as we commit to, and give over the next several years, that the Lord would continue to unite our hearts, keeping us focused on the biblical goal of the Kingdom, and to complete the vision. Now is the time when we can join in the unparalleled opportunity to reach more for Christ in our community. If you would like more information or would like to contribute to the FaithWorks capital campaign, feel free to contact the church office.

Adult Choir
Our 9:30 Adult Choir is looking for voices as we begin our preparation for 2008. We rehearse Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the choir room. No auditions are required, just the desire to help lead worship through music.

TRADITIONAL SERVICE with Choir: 9:30 a.m.
This exciting service uses choir, great hymns of the faith, and special messages through song. Will James in in leadership of worship through song each week.

CONTEMPORARY SERVICE with Band: 11:00 a.m.
This service uses a band to lead in ancient and modern songs of worship. Jared Billups is in leadership of worship through song each week.

WEDNESDAYS
Join us on Wednesday for FELLOWSHIP MEAL and PRAYER GATHERING all beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
